Trying to get my life back on track...
Seems writing makes me happy. As does movies, so I shall try to get into the swing of things again. This blog has more to do with my readings lately, since I'm taking summer classes at the moment.
Factual point number one: I'm reading Jane Eyre for the third time (for summer school).
Factual point number two: I voiced an intelligent opinion today in my European Imperialism class. No, really, I usually don't speak in class (I'm much more the observing type), but the professor called on me and the words just spilled out, and in a completely articulate way! Much better than when I actually have something to say, raise my hand and by the time the prof calls on me it comes out all jumbled. Or even worse (and more humiliating) I could have just froze. But I didn't. You see, I usually only speak out in my English classes, because those are the only classes I really have a passion for so I actually make an effort to understand the material (or I wouldn't be majoring in it, heh heh). But I got lucky, I actually LIKE this class, so I did the readings. Don't ask me to recall what I said. It was a combination of Orientalism and the readings/viewings from the day before. Impressive, no?
Factual and most exciting third point: I have a deadline to continue reading The Trial and FINISH by the 16th. Cheer me on. I want to finish it before I watch it on TV in it's entirety (I've only seen it in parts). I have it on DVD, but I get excited when a movie *just happens* to be shown on the telly. It's a planned surprise.
Fourth make up point: I missed Youtube Tuesday....twice. So here's two videos to make up for it.
1.) Tracey Ullman -They Don't Know. This blew my mind. Mainly because Paul McCartney makes a cameo. And because I had no idea Tracey Ullman had a singing career.
2.) Fitting accordingly to this blog, I present the Trailer for Orson Welles' The Trial. I'm giddy just watching it.
